This video of Hugh Jackman photobombing me on the job went viral, because…. who doesn’t love Hugh?!

I’m still buzzing, so I wanted to share  the story behind it with you.

He his wife Deborra-Lee were continuing their amazing work with the Fight Cancer Foundation at the Children’s Hospital in Sydney and I was there, reporting on the story.

The press conference had finished and almost everyone had left, but my cameraman and I waited out the front to do my piece to camera, with Hugh and Deborra walking out the doors behind me… Or so we ‘thought’ that’s how it would go.

True to his, ‘nicest man in Hollywood’ reputation, Hugh and Deborra-Lee stayed back for about an hour chatting with nurses and staff.

As soon as I spotted Hugh coming out the door, I got into position and started my spiel. I knew timing was going to be everything, and my not stuffing-it-up ,was going to be pretty important because I’d only have one shot!

I kind of heard someone yelling behind me, but like all reporters, I’m practiced at blocking out any background craziness and staying focused, so I carried on.. Until the Wolverine practically had his arms around me! “Photobomb!”, Hugh yelled. I was so shocked, I couldn’t believe this mega-star just punked me! I couldn’t help but laugh.

You can’t really hear it in the clip, but he even yelled out “sorry” which is when I replied, “The best kind of photobomb Hugh!”. Yep, you can photo-bomb me all day Hugh.

Everyone around me was a little shocked and laughing. The loudest chuckle coming from his wife Deborra-Lee, amused by her cheeky husband no doubt!

I’ll never forget that moment, which didn’t go to plan, but turned out better than imagined!

Sure Hugh is a spunk and great actor, but it’s what this couple do behind the scenes for others, especially though the Fight Cancer Foundation, that’s truly admirable. They’re helping save lives and they’ve been doing it for 20 years.

So there you have it… I was already a fan , now I’m a Hugh-ge one!
